Syndicus, Inc. Scientific Services Approved as Sub-recipient Grantee for CRISP
December 8, 2011
Annapolis-based Syndicus, Inc. Scientific Services was recently designated as a sub-recipient grantee for the Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP) in Maryland. The award, which was issued by The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), allows Syndicus – as a managed service organization (MSO) – to begin marketing its electronic health records (EHR) adoption services to primary care physicians (PCPs) and other healthcare providers across the state of Maryland.
CRISP, acting as the Regional Extension Center (REC), will oversee Syndicus’ work, as well as that of other MSOs, to ensure consistent delivery of direct assistance services to Maryland providers.
In addition to allowing Syndicus to market its EHR adoption services, the sub-recipient grant status also enables Syndicus to receive direct assistance funding based on achieving three milestones: (1) working with PCPs and other providers to adopt EHRs for their respective practices, (2) enrolling PCPs with ePrescribe and (3) helping providers achieve meaningful use Stage 1. To meet these requirements, Syndicus has partnered with Dr. Ali Loveys, a leading medical doctor renowned for her EHR adoption experience.
“With this designation, we continue to prove our expertise in the EHR adoption arena and broaden our reach across the state of Maryland,” said CEO Michael McNees. “Engaging Dr. Loveys and other talented resources shows our commitment to working closely with healthcare providers to adapt to new federal healthcare requirements and technological advances – with the ultimate goal of improving healthcare outcomes and reducing costs for services.”
