Richard Kennedy, controller, Oceanside, Calif.

Richard Kennedy has 30 years of experience in financial and controllership positions across a variety of industries, including electronics, banking, retail, professional services, manufacturing, public transportation, and non-profit organizations.  Since 2010, he has served as controller for Syndicus - a role that involves supporting overall growth and managing West Coast operations.
His career accomplishments include:

  • As a financial consultant with Digital Equipment Corporation, he was part of a three-person team that provided Hughes Aircraft with a 10-year, $100 million business plan to convert a division from defense-related production to a high-volume, commercial application production mode.

  • In 10 years with the professional services industry, Mr. Kennedy was an original team member of a start-up Professional Employer Outsourcing (PEO) company that grew from $0 to $30 million in revenue, 1,200 employees and 100 client companies in a three-year period.

Kennedy is a part-time instructor in finance, accounting and management for the University of Phoenix. He is also a committed volunteer with city commissions and school bond oversight committees in Oceanside, Calif.  He has an MBA from the University of Phoenix, as well as a bachelor of science degree from Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, Ariz.
