Syndicus, Inc. Scientific Services, eCast Corporation Announce Strategic Alliance

Syndicus, Inc. Scientific Services (SSS) and Raleigh, N.C.-based healthcare solutions provider eCast Corporation have forged a strategic alliance – giving healthcare providers across the country access to a unique combination of services that will help them comply with local, state and federal electronic health record/electronic medical record (EHR/EMR) regulations.
eCast specializes in implementing an EMR strategy around a group of physicians by offering unique components to providers, such as access to a health information exchange (HIE) and the annual wellness and care surveillance (AWACS) program, which allows all Medicare patients to receive health screenings and helps physicians take a pre-emptive approach to their care.
Together, the two companies will work closely to promote and sell eCast’s innovative EHR-hosted solution, which eCast launched first in 2000. Unique aspects of the system include:
- Individualized patient reports that include 350 data points – covering everything from body mass index to mental, cognitive and functional assessments.
- Access to an HIE, which allows physicians to store and gather patient data from various sources.
- An ePrescribe function, which detects drug interactions and contraindications and enables primary care physicians to better manage their patients’ medications.
According to eCast CEO Peter Bechtel, clients are enamored with the product for several reasons: high-quality patient information, “low to no” technology to embrace and it drives the creation of essential revenues back into their practices.
