Syndicus, Inc.  Scientific Services Receives Maryland Health Care Commission Candidacy Status

Aug. 19, 2011

Syndicus, Inc. Scientific Services recently received its Candidacy Status Letter from the Maryland Health Care Commission − authorizing the company to act as a management service organization (MSO) that will perform electronic health records (EHR) adoption and health information exchange (HIE) services for primary care physicians across the state.

EHRs are federally mandated by 2014 via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Although there is changing legislative criteria for EHRs every two years, physicians can take advantage of monetary incentives that are available for achieving meaningful use Stage I.

As Syndicus works with physicians and healthcare organizations across Maryland, it will also coordinate with the Electronic Healthcare National Accreditation Commission to achieve its certification as a state-designated MSO within the next year.

“We are proving our expertise in the EHR adoption arena and continue to broaden our reach,” said CEO Michael McNees. “Our talented resources are committed to working closely with healthcare providers to adapt to new federal healthcare requirements and technological advances – with the ultimate goal of improving healthcare outcomes and reducing costs for services.”
